Introduction
Several large industrial sites have been found in Sussex, placed near abundant natural resources, such as iron, clay, salt, stone, and wood supplies for kilns. Secondary industries and crafts used by-products of farming, such as bone and leather. Many craftsmen would have worked singly or in small groups, so their presence is less easy to identify.
