Introduction
Most people in Roman Britain would not have had leisure time as we do now. However there is some evidence that both private and public entertainment were available, the latter often paid for by the town's ruling elite. Bathhouses were not merely places to get clean, they were also centres for socialising, taking exercise, and informal business meetings.

Unfortunately games and toys which may have been used have not survived, or may be hard to recognise.
