Sheep’s skull
This is the top part of a skull of a horned sheep. Sheep were quite common, especially in the South Downs. They were used for milk, which could be made into cheese, as well as for wool and for meat.

Ox Skull
The skull of an ox. Oxen were important farm animals, both for food and for pulling the heavy carts and ploughs.

Pig bones
Pigs were not as common as cattle or sheep, but they were more frequently eaten at military forts and high status sites like Fishbourne Roman Palace.
