Question: How did Romans secure their homes?

Hinge
Roman houses would have had wooden doors, although all that remains are iron hinges such as this one from Fishbourne.

Key latch
This is a key latch, used for securing doors. It would be lifted by a key pushed through from a hole in the outside.

Key
These are two iron keys from Beauport Park. The larger one would probably have been used as a door key.
