The possible site for the seat of the late Iron Age territorial oppida, although it has mostly eroded into the sea. There is also evidence for much Romano-British occupation, including a coin hoard (c.AD 258 - 270), found near to the shore at Fish Lane, and many bricks, tiles and other debris suggesting a large villa or settlement site.
